Role Description This full-time, on-site Mortgage Loan Officer role is based in the Greater Chicago Area. The Mortgage Loan Officer will source and develop mortgage business, meet with prospective and existing customers, and guide them through the end-to-end mortgage process from application to closing. Responsibilities include assessing borrower needs, explaining mortgage products and terms, collecting and reviewing financial documentation, and coordinating with underwriting, processing, and closing teams to ensure timely approvals. The role also involves maintaining strong customer relationships, providing proactive communication and service, and adhering to regulatory and bank policies. Mortgage Loan Officers are expected to collaborate with branch and commercial partners to generate referrals and support overall lending growth in the local market. Qualifications Experience as a Loan Officer or in a closely related lending role, with a strong track record of originating residential mortgage loans. Knowledge of the Mortgage Industry and Mortgage Lending practices, including current regulations, products, and secondary market guidelines. Understanding of Underwriting standards and risk assessment, with the ability to prepare complete and accurate loan files. Strong Customer Service skills, including clear communication, active listening, and the ability to build long-term customer relationships. Proficiency in mortgage origination systems and basic office software; strong numerical and analytical skills. Ability to work on-site in the Greater Chicago Area, manage a pipeline of loans, and meet sales and quality targets. High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field preferred. Relevant state mortgage loan originator license and registration with NMLS, or ability to obtain as required.
