Sr. Project Manager

Job Overview Under the general direction of the Information Technology Manager I, the Information Technology Specialist II (ITS II) independently plans, organizes, and manages complex analytical tasks related to the oversight of IT projects. The ITS II has responsibility for project integration, scope, time, cost, quality, human resource planning, communications, risk, and procurement management. Responsibilities The ITS II leads, schedules, and conducts activities necessary to manage an IT project and system development methods aligned with state policies and department objectives. The role includes reviewing legislation, evaluating impacts on DOJ processes, translating legal or policy requirements into actionable steps, and providing recommendations that influence DOJ planning, compliance decisions, and public transparency initiatives. The ITS II prepares periodic formal reports and other documents for controlling agencies, assists staff in preparing Project Approval Lifecycle deliverables, Special Project Reports, Post Implementation Evaluation Reports, and financial/economic analysis worksheets. The ITS II may manage multiple medium and high‑criticality projects concurrently, coordinating resources, budgeting, risk management, and stakeholder communication. Objectives include successful development and implementation of processes for initiation, planning, execution, regulation, and closure, as well as leadership and guidance of the project team to achieve agreed‐upon goals within scope, time, quality, and budget.
