Shear Operator

Pay: $25–$27/hr

Location: Vancouver, WA

Shift: Swing Shift — Monday–Thursday, 3:00 PM to 1:30 AM (4x10 schedule)

If you’re looking to get into a steady fabrication role and have experience operating shop equipment, this is a great opportunity to join a team building large-scale industrial equipment.

This role is responsible for cutting and preparing metal materials used in the fabrication of kilns and boilers. You will be working with shear machines to cut plate and sheet metal based on blueprints and production specs, helping keep the shop running efficiently.

This is a hands-on position in a production environment where accuracy, safety, and consistency are key.

• Set up and operate shear machines to cut metal plates and sheets
• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and job travelers
• Measure and verify parts to ensure accuracy and quality standards
• Load and move material using forklifts or overhead cranes
• Stage material for downstream fabrication processes
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work area

• Experience operating shop or fabrication equipment
• Ability to read tape measures and interpret blueprints
• Comfortable working with metal material and cutting processes
• Experience with press brakes, tooling, or similar equipment is a plus
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stay active throughout the shift

• 4-day work week (three-day weekends every week)

The pay range for this position is $25.00–$27.00/hr.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vancouver, WA.
