Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN) to join a small, close-knit acute care unit. This is a unique opportunity to work in a low census, high-responsibility environment where independence, reliability, and strong clinical judgment are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide care for pediatric patients in a small unit setting

• Maintain patient ratio of 1:3 (max 3 patients)

• Deliver family-centered care with parent rooming-in support

• Float to Med Surg or Postpartum units as needed

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory and IV therapy

• Ensure safe, high-quality patient care in a single-nurse coverage unit

Unit Details

• Beds: 3

• Patient Ratio: 1:3

• Charting System: Meditech

• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

• Floating: Required (Med Surg / Postpartum)

Schedule & Requirements

• Day shifts (12 hours)

• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

• Holiday Requirement: As needed

• On-Call: Not required

• Block Scheduling: Not allowed

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of recent Pediatric RN experience

• Strong ability to work independently in a low-resource setting

• Certifications:

  • BLS (AHA)

  • ACLS (AHA)

  • PALS (AHA)

• Active Massachusetts RN License (required at submission)
