Medical Biller

Major Function The Access Biller Representative is responsible for accurately responding to patient inquiries about billing statements in a courteous manner, identifying, investigating, and resolving or escalating any issues or errors on the bill. Acting as the initial contact for patient billing concerns and payments, the representative performs billing functions and provides patient education regarding copays, deductibles, and other payment terms. The representative must confirm that proper documentation is occurring in the patient accounting system and may offer patients payment plans following hospital payment plan guidelines. Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent required; college coursework or degree preferred. 1–2 years of experience in a hospital, physician practice, or health insurance environment required. At least 1 year of medical billing experience is strongly preferred. Certification & Licensure None specified. Physical Requirements Lifting 20–50 lbs occasionally. Lifting 50 lbs rarely.
