What You’ll Do As an Orthotic Fitter, you’ll work directly with patients and providers to deliver customized orthotic solutions that improve comfort, stability, and mobility. Your responsibilities may include: Evaluating patients under physician direction to determine appropriate orthotic solutions Measuring, fitting, adjusting, and modifying braces, splints, and orthopedic devices Educating patients and caregivers on proper use, wear schedules, and maintenance Collaborating with physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and rehabilitation teams Monitoring patient progress and making adjustments to optimize comfort and function Maintaining accurate documentation while providing exceptional patient-centered care Who We’re Looking For We’re searching for someone who is: Passionate about improving lives Compassionate and patient-focused Detail-oriented Collaborative Motivated by meaningful patient outcomes Committed to delivering outstanding service and clinical excellence Minimum Education, Experience & Certification Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent Completion of an orthotic/prosthetic fitter training program or equivalent clinical experience Ability to accurately measure and fit orthotic and/or prosthetic devices Basic knowledge of anatomy, biomechanics, and medical terminology Strong interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to perform hands-on clinical fitting activities Preferred Qualifications Certified Orthotic Fitter (COF) and/or Certified Prosthetic Fitter (CPF) Experience in a hospital, outpatient clinic, rehabilitation, or academic medical center setting Experience working with amputee populations or complex orthotic cases Familiarity with electronic medical record systems Additional Job Description Why MUSC Health?
