About the Position

Job Title: RN Cardiovascular Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: FS Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: One year of experience in cardiovascular nursing with stepdown/PCU experience required. License: Current RN License issued by the state nursing board or a current multistate compact RN License. Certifications: Current Basic Life Support and ACLS issued by the American Heart Association. Must-Have: - Cardiac experience is required. - Familiarity with chest tubes, IV drips, and a mix of medical/surgical and stepdown care. - Experience in cardiac rehabilitation and pre/post-procedures, as well as cardiac stabilizations. - Ability to interpret EKGs and monitor rhythms and rates. - Ability to collaborate with cardiac rehabilitation, education, and discharge planning. Description: Under general supervision, provides nursing care to patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex. Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients. Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments, noting all changes in physician orders. Assists physicians in examining patients and performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments. Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients, observing manifestations and intervening as necessary. Administers medications as prescribed and initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products. Delivers patient care competently. Interacts with patients and families, sharing care plans while in the hospital and at discharge. Informs patients and families of hospital procedures. Makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel. Delegates tasks to support staff. Performs other duties as assigned.
