Advanced Practice Provider (APP) NeurosurgeryCommunity Health Partners is seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join the Neurosurgery team. In this role, the APP will provide comprehensive care for patients with neurosurgical conditions of the brain and spine, including traumatic brain and spinal cord injury, intracranial hemorrhage, hydrocephalus, brain tumors, degenerative spine disease, neurovascular conditions such as brain aneurysms, and functional neurosurgical conditions such as movement disorders and epilepsy, in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team. Responsibilities include conducting detailed clinical assessments, developing and managing treatment plans, prescribing appropriate therapies, serving as first assist on a wide range of cranial and spine operations, and performing neurosurgical bedside procedures. The APP will support patients throughout the surgical continuum, from initial consultation through surgery, postoperative recovery, and discharge, and ensure high standards of safety and quality. This position follows a 7-on, 7-off schedule with day and night shifts. Night shift responsibilities are assigned based on experience and training.Our Neurosciences department now includes the Bob Smittcamp Family Neurosciences Institute, a five-story, 60,000-square-foot facility on the Community Regional Medical Center campus that opened in May 2026. Funded by $30 million in community donations, the Institute brings together more than 60 physicians and 30 advanced practice providers across stroke and neurovascular care, epilepsy, neuro-oncology, traumatic brain and spine injury, movement disorders, and neuromuscular disease. Community Regional is certified by The Joint Commission as an Advanced Comprehensive Stroke Center, the highest level of stroke certification and the only one in the five-county region, with 24/7 access to on-site neurosurgical expertise. Neurosurgical patients are cared for in our 30-bed Neurocritical Care Unit, which has earned the AACN Beacon Award for Excellence at the Gold level, and on our 52-bed neuroscience floor.In this role, you will:Provide direct assessment, evaluation and consultative patient care, complying with medical protocols and procedures.Provide direct patient management in collaboration with physicians; participates in daily rounds, patient assessments and care plan development.Orders, interprets and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's healthcare needs. Furnishes medications based upon written protocols.Serve as first assist on a wide range of cranial and spine operations.Perform neurosurgical bedside procedures as credentialed, including external ventricular drain placement, intracranial pressure monitor (bolt) placement, lumbar puncture, and lumbar drain placement.Ensure that patients are counseled regarding treatment plans and the use, dosage and possible side effects of medications.Document and maintain precise and complete records of patients.Distinguish between normal and abnormal findings.Provide education, training, information and consultation services to interdisciplinary team, patients, family and caregivers.All positions are located in Fresno/Clovis CAResponsibilities:The Community Health System (Community Medical Centers "CMC") is a locally owned, not-for-profit, public-benefit organization based in Fresno, California. Accountabilities include delivering a high standard of medical care to individuals in the community, working alongside staff members as a part of an integrated, interdisciplinary team, developing and delivering a model of care that supports the wellness of our patients and staff, assessing, diagnosing, and developing treatment plans for patients, effectively communicating treatment plans with patients, family members, and other medical staff members, assisting and advising staff members on challenging cases, as needed, referring patients to specialists or other practices, as appropriate, and maintaining immaculate documentation of all procedures and practices.
