Weyerhaeuser is seeking a Network Administrator II to work full-time within North America*. The role focuses on network operations, highly motivated to innovate, optimize and automate. As a key contributor to our Enterprise Technical Solution - Network Services team, this position provides direct ownership of key infrastructure technologies such as network route/switch equipment, firewalls, WAN equipment, and general network routing concepts such as BGP. Approved Remote Work States/Provinces AL AR FL GA ID MS MT NC OK SC TX UT VA WA WV AB BC ON SK Primary Responsibilities The Network Administrator II role provides implementation, management, and maintenance of core components within a large-scale enterprise network. Candidate will focus on maintaining a secure, highly available and highly reliable network infrastructure for both corporate and OT production environments. Use standard monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Catalyst Center, Meraki Dashboard, etc.) to ensure network availability and eliminate configuration drift. Troubleshoot, configure, and operate network devices such as switches, routers, firewalls, SD‑WAN appliances and wireless access points. Follow all documented standard operating procedures in accordance with IT security policies. Implement and optimize network solution designs aligned with company standards. Follow standard procedures for deploying new network hardware and services. Manage and maintain network diagrams. Manage and maintain network asset database. Contribute to automation of network configuration and operational tasks. Engage with key vendors and service providers for escalation and incident resolution. Partner with and support the business to maintain optimal network services. Travel as necessary to facilities across North America (expected travel 10‑15%). Participate in on‑call rotation (one week every 6‑8 weeks). Consistent Drive Towards Operational Excellence Ensure network infrastructure is maintained and updated with applicable firmware and security updates. Proactively evaluate the as‑is deployment for new, innovative enhancements to improve performance, security, efficiency, and cost. Drive automation where opportunities are identified. Stays Current On Industry Trends And New Technologies Research the latest technologies and services that improve the overall infrastructure. Seek and participate in continuous learning opportunities, both formal training/conference events and informal ad‑hoc sessions. Invest in personal development to ensure continued development of relevant network skills. Job Details Job Title: Information Technology Primary Location: USA-WA-Tacoma Other Locations: USA-GA-Atlanta, USA-TX-Austin, USA-MT-Helena, USA-AR-Little Rock, USA-NC-Raleigh, USA-SC-Columbia, USA-UT-Salt Lake City, USA-FL-Orlando, USA-ID-Boise Schedule: Full‑time Job Level: Individual Contributor Job Type: Experienced Shift: Day (1st) Qualification Requirements 3+ years of practical network services experience Bachelor’s Degree in IT (or equivalent) a plus Solid understanding of the TCP/IP Networking Model Solid understanding of data link concepts such as VLANs, spanning tree, 802.1q trunking, and wireless networking Solid understanding of network layer concepts including dynamic routing (BGP) and routing update manipulation Solid understanding of transport concepts such as TCP and UDP Solid understanding of encapsulation technologies including IPSEC and GRE over IPSec; understanding of application data flow on a network Solid understanding of fundamental application‑aware firewall technologies Solid understanding of fundamental SD‑WAN technologies Proficient technical knowledge of how network technologies are integrated Understanding of basic authentication and network access concepts including ISE, TACACS, Kerberos, and other AAA services Familiarity with fundamentals of network automation and DevOps practices using Python or Ansible a plus Excellent oral and written communication skills Skilled in communicating technical topics to non‑technical audiences Excellent collaboration skills Experience working in a manufacturing environment and understanding of reliability, sensitivity, and critical requirements of network demands Skilled in solving highly complex problems and translating business requirements into technical solutions Understanding of IT Service Management Able to apply business knowledge to develop and deliver innovative, value‑added improvements Proven ability to operate and effectively communicate while under pressure and manage a diverse workload with minimal supervision Additional Desired Qualifications Experience operating in a multi‑cloud computing environment (AWS, Azure, etc.) Knowledge and/or experience with Meraki, Cisco, Palo Alto, VeloCloud technologies Experience working with OT/ICS manufacturing environments Network+, CCNA, and/or Palo Alto Certifications would be an asset What We Offer Compensation: Eligible for annual merit‑increase program. Salary range: $98,811–$148,217 based on skills, qualifications, and experience. Eligible for Annual Incentive Program with a target of 10% of base pay; potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target. Benefits: Comprehensive employee benefits plan covering medical, dental, vision, short‑ and long‑term disability, and life insurance. Pre‑tax Health Savings Account with company contribution. Additional benefits include voluntary Long‑Term Care and Employee Assistance Programs. Support for personal volunteerism, diversity network sponsorship, mentoring, and training and development opportunities. Retirement: 401(k) plan with paid company match and additional contribution equal to 5% of eligible pay. Paid Time Off / Vacation: 3 weeks of paid vacation during the first year for employees scheduled to work 25hours or more per week. After 6 months of employment, accrue additional vacation.
