Food Service Sanitation Worker at ABM Industries Moreno Valley, CA

Overview Food Service Sanitation Worker performs a variety of tasks in food preparation and service to patients, staff and visitors. Pay: $23.00 hourly. Schedule will vary; availability required on weekends and holidays. Hours range: 5:00 am - 8:30 pm. Full time, 32 hours minimum, most likely 40 hours per week. Responsibilities Demonstrate correct operation, storage and cleaning of equipment. Demonstrate proper portioning in recipes and serving food to prevent waste and assure high quality products. Demonstrate proper food preparation and assembly according to standardized recipes and methods of preparation. Prepare, serve, and deliver food to patients of all ages. Demonstrate correct catering services for meals, meetings or special events. Alert supervisor to problems and needs concerning equipment and food supplies; detect and report spoiled or unattractive food, defective supplies/equipment or other unusual conditions. Follow department policy on use of leftovers. Communicate with co‑workers, including information about food orders during cafeteria meal times and break reliefs. Order daily food and supplies as needed. Plan and coordinate work schedule so that foods are ready at required times. Demonstrate a high level of accuracy when handling cash and charges in a cash register. Assist with care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies. Provide and maintain a clean and sanitary environment in the kitchen. Operate mechanical floor cleaners; sweep and complete wet mopping in the kitchen. Move and relocate equipment in the kitchen back to the original location. Wash walls, ceiling tiles, and vents as needed. Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in‑service meetings and professional conferences. Participate and attend meetings and in‑services as required and/or assigned. Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. Maintain established hospital and departmental policies and procedures, objectives, performance improvement program, safety, environment of care, management of information, and infection control standards. Utilize excellent customer service skills at all times. Comply with federal and state law and accrediting and licensing agencies at all times, including but not limited to Joint Commission and federal compliance regulations. Requirements Must be 18 years of age or older. No high school diploma, GED, or college degree required. No experience required; on‑the‑job training provided.
