Registered Nurse Position

Responsible for planning and carrying out individualized nursing care based upon accurate assessment and evaluation of the actions performed, according to the treatment plan prescribed by the provider. Provide support and assistance in other departments/sites as needed or directed.

Essential duties and responsibilities include managing patient flow, assessing vital signs, establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients, developing and implementing educational plans, checking for and obtaining signed informed consent forms, assisting with routine examinations and procedures, assessing patient health status over the telephone, authorizing medication refills, providing support and assistance in other departments/sites, assisting with maintaining all required tracking within the health center system, functioning within the legal and ethical parameters of nursing care, educating staff members on current knowledge acquired through continuing educational opportunities, identifying problem areas with supervisor/health center manager, assisting supervisor/health center manager in seeking and monitoring quality improvement and clinical performance metrics related to patient care, recommending process improvement/changes to increase % of compliance and efficient nursing time management, knowing infection control procedures and other safety and security protocols to keep patients and staff safe, working their assigned clinical inbox daily and remaining within the assigned threshold parameters, maintaining and tracking all supplies and equipment as assigned, and performing other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, skills and abilities include being professional in appearance and behavior, being customer service orientated and focused, being dependable and punctual, being able to motivate staff, possessing a positive attitude, knowledge of current trends in nursing, being respectful of cultural and religious practices in all interactions, ability to work effectively independently and within a team and in a leadership role as appropriate, and standard clerical dexterity to operate computers, printers, copiers, scanners and fax machines.

Education and experience requires a degree from an accredited School of Nursing, a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois, and maintaining BLS certification.

Physical demands include being able to lift up to 50 pounds, assist in patient lifts/transfers utilizing proper body mechanics, stand for extended periods and walk on a regular basis, and may be required to sit for extended periods of time.

Work schedule includes normal work hours for this position are Monday through Friday dayshift unless otherwise specified.
