Job Title: Scaffold Laborer / General Construction Helper
Job Description

This role supports scaffold building operations on commercial construction sites by assisting with the setup, erection, and dismantling of scaffolding, as well as general labor tasks across multiple locations in the Phoenix area. You will work outdoors in a physically demanding environment, support the foreman and scaffold builders, and help ensure safe and efficient job site operations.

Responsibilities

• Set up the job site each morning and prepare materials and equipment needed for scaffold construction.
• Assist scaffold builders with building and erecting scaffolding structures according to site requirements and safety standards.
• Help dismantle scaffolding at the end of each project or phase, ensuring all components are safely removed and stored.
• Move and organize materials around the job site, including loading and unloading equipment and supplies.
• Use a hammer and other basic hand tools to assemble and secure scaffold components.
• Load company trucks with scaffold materials and equipment for transport to and from job sites.
• Support the foreman with additional duties as assigned, including general labor tasks on construction sites.
• Travel to various job sites across the Phoenix area as needed, including potential reassignment to new projects after the initial site.
• Attend required orientations and safety briefings at designated locations and follow all site safety protocols.
• Work outdoors for the full shift, performing tasks that involve heavy lifting, bending, and carrying materials up to 50 pounds.

• Experience performing general labor on construction sites or in commercial construction environments.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting, bending, and carrying materials up to 50 pounds throughout the workday.
• Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions on active construction sites.
• Willingness and ability to travel across the Phoenix area to different job sites as needed.
• Capability to use basic hand tools such as hammers safely and effectively.
• Reliability in meeting at designated locations on time for shifts, orientations, and job site assignments.
• Strong work ethic and ability to follow instructions from foremen and construction leads.
• Commitment to working safely around scaffolding and construction equipment.

• Any prior experience with scaffolding, including building, erecting, or dismantling scaffold structures, is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with hand tools or power tools is beneficial.
• Previous yard work or outdoor labor experience is an advantage.
• Experience working in a commercial construction environment is preferred.
• Comfort working in a large yard facility and around rental equipment is helpful.

Work Environment

You work primarily outdoors on active construction sites and at a large scaffolding yard facility. The environment includes open yard spaces, construction equipment, and scaffold structures, requiring consistent awareness of safety practices. The typical shift runs from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. You will attend orientations at designated locations before starting work on site, and your time spent in orientation is paid. The role involves frequent travel within the Phoenix area to different job sites, with commute time compensated according to company guidelines. You perform physically demanding tasks such as heavy lifting, bending, and carrying materials, often on uneven surfaces and in varying weather conditions. Appropriate work attire for construction environments, including safety footwear and other personal protective equipment, is required and supported through allowance programs once you transition to direct employment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Queen Creek, AZ.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
