A-Level Diagnostic Automotive Technician

AllState Transmission & Auto Repair | DeSoto, Texas

Earn Up to $60 Per Hour | Air-Conditioned Shop

Are you the technician other techs turn to when they cannot solve the problem?

AllState Transmission & Auto Repair is looking for an experienced A-Level Diagnostic Technician to join its high-volume DeSoto team. This is an opportunity for a proven diagnostician who can accurately identify complex vehicle issues, perform quality repairs, and keep work moving without sacrificing workmanship.

You will work in an air-conditioned shop with modern diagnostic equipment and a steady flow of vehicles. Compensation is available up to $60 per hour , based on experience, certifications, diagnostic ability, and demonstrated performance.

What You’ll Do

• Diagnose complex electrical, drivability, engine-performance, transmission, and mechanical concerns
• Use scan tools, scopes, meters, and other modern diagnostic equipment
• Develop accurate repair recommendations based on testing—not guesswork
• Complete advanced repairs efficiently and correctly
• Perform thorough vehicle inspections and clearly document findings
• Communicate with service advisors and fellow technicians regarding diagnostic results and repair needs
• Verify completed repairs and maintain consistently high quality standards
• Help support and guide less-experienced technicians when needed
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an automotive technology program is highly preferred
• ASE A1–A8 certifications and/or L1 Advanced Engine Performance certification are highly preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Automotive Technician in a similar role
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex automotive issues
• Proficiency with modern diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and testing procedures
• Extensive knowledge of automotive systems, components, electrical systems, and drivability diagnostics
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to exceptional workmanship
• Ability to work effectively in a busy, high-volume repair environment
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Must be available to work a rotating weekend schedule

Schedule

This is a full-time, customer-facing leadership position. Availability to work during store operating hours, including some evenings and weekends, may be required.
