Staff Accountant

Job Description Open Sky Community Services is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Staff Accountant to join our Finance team. The Staff Accountant plays a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close activities, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting standards. This position collaborates with programs across the organization to support financial operations and reporting. Key Responsibilities Prepare and record recurring, reclassification, and adjusting journal entries, ensuring accuracy and appropriate documentation. Perform monthly reconciliations of assigned accounts, including cash, receivables, prepaid expenses, and payroll-related accounts. Process daily cash receipts, cash adjustments, and loan, mortgage, and bond payment transactions across multiple banking institutions. Manage weekly mobile check deposits and maintain supporting financial records and documentation. Support purchasing card (P-Card) administration, including expense review, user training, account maintenance, and issue resolution. Assist with audits, respond to financial inquiries, and contribute to the improvement of accounting processes, controls, and reporting practices. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. Minimum of two years of relevant accounting experience. Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
