Staff Accountant

Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join our finance team on a full-time, on-site basis in Charleston, SC. In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining the financial health of our organization by supporting day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and contributing to the overall efficiency of our accounting department. Please note: Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Candidates must be local to the Charleston area or willing to relocate at their own expense. Key Responsibilities Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions Assist with month-end and year-end close processes Reconcile general ledger accounts, bank statements, and balance sheets Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports Maintain and organize financial records in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements Analyze financial data and identify discrepancies or areas for process improvement Assist with internal and external audits by preparing supporting documentation Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial data accuracy Support senior accounting staff and management with ad hoc financial projects Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 2-3 years of hands-on accounting experience Proficiency in accounting software (NetSuite, Quickbooks, or similar) and Microsoft Office, especially Excel Solid understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy Excellent organizational and time management skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, on-site team environment Preferred Experience with ERP systems Familiarity with financial reporting and variance analysis Experience supporting audit preparation or working with external auditors Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment What We Offer Competitive salary commensurate with experience Comprehensive benefits package including health insurance and 401k Paid time off and holidays Opportunities for professional growth and development within a thriving company A collaborative, team-oriented work environment Location Charleston, SC — This is a fully on-site position.
