Senior Clinical Scientist - Oncology - Home Based
ICON
ICON seeks a senior clinical scientist for oncology studies in a home-based, sponsor-dedicated model. The role involves leading clinical and scientific execution of protocols, medical monitoring, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional collaboration across trial teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead or support study execution, serving as primary scientific contact for internal and external stakeholders
- Direct medical monitoring team and develop medical monitoring plans; review serious adverse event reports
- Collaborate on trial design, endpoint development, and protocol amendments with medical writing and governance teams
- Establish and support safety committees (SAC, DMC, adjudication); prepare scientific presentations at investigator meetings
- Coordinate laboratory, biospecimen, and imaging specifications; monitor data quality and central lab results for safety signals
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in life sciences with 7+ years clinical research experience, or Master's/PhD with 5+ years
- Minimum 2 years as lead clinical scientist in pharmaceutical or clinical drug development
- Medical monitoring experience required
- Oncology experience required
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Legal authorization to work in US or Canada; no visa sponsorship available
