We're looking for a motivated Structural Steel Fitter/Fabricator who enjoys hands-on work, values quality craftsmanship, and wants to be part of a growing team where their skills make an impact every day. • Read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, weld symbols, and work orders to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly.
• Lay out, fit, align, and assemble structural steel components including beams, columns, plates, stiffeners, clips, and connection assemblies.
• Verify measurements, joint preparation, and fit-up accuracy to meet project specifications and tolerances.
• Perform tack welding and support fabrication processes to prepare assemblies for final welding and inspection.
• Use fabrication tools and equipment including grinders, torches, magnetic drills, saws, and material handling equipment.
• Inspect completed work for dimensional accuracy, fit-up quality, and compliance with fabrication drawings.
• Partner with welders, supervisors, and quality teams to resolve fabrication challenges and maintain production schedules.
• Assist with material staging, assembly preparation, and final product readiness for coating, shipment, or field erection.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment.
• Contribute to the successful completion of projects ranging from commercial buildings to mission-critical facilities.

• 2+ years of recent experience in structural steel fabrication, fitting, or heavy industrial manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and weld symbols.
• Experience fitting and assembling structural steel components using proper layout and measurement techniques.
• Strong understanding of structural steel connections, joint preparation, and fabrication processes.
• Comfortable working with hand tools, power tools, grinders, torches, magnetic drills, and related shop equipment.
• Ability to identify fit-up issues and proactively resolve problems before they impact production.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
• Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work effectively alongside welders, supervisors, and production personnel.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richmond, VA.

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $32.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Richmond,VA.
