Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry/PCU position requiring cardiac cath lab experience and a PA or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Telemetry/Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of a Level 1 Trauma Center hospital
• Cardiac geriatric patient population
• Common diagnoses/treatments include chest pain, MI, open heart surgery, Watchman procedure, TAVR, post-op cardiac cath, and post-op pacemaker care
• RN to patient ratio of 1:5; NA ratio of 10-12 patients during days and 20-22 at night
• Uses pacer and arterial lines (Alines) equipment
• Charts in EPIC EHR system
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend shift required based on unit staffing needs
• No on-call requirements
• Not normally floated, but may float to 1:1 patient assignments depending on unit needs

Requirements

• Active RN license (PA or Compact) currently in hand
• Current BLS certification (AHA) required
• Cardiac Cath Lab experience required
• 2+ years of RN experience preferred
• Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance required
• PA State Police Clearance (PATCH) required
• FBI and Department of Aging fingerprinting required (within last two years)
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide cardiac telemetry nursing care to a geriatric patient population in a high-acuity PCU setting
• Facility is a Level 1 Trauma Center offering advanced cardiac and surgical services
• Weekly orientation held on Mondays
• Scrubs of any color are acceptable; hoodies are not permitted and only nose stud piercings are allowed
• Candidates must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered for the travel rate
• Candidates who have not worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are eligible
• Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere full-time
• Preference given to candidates with no RTO requests
• Complete and clear screenings required prior to start
