Grants Manager

Starlink Grant Manager (State & Local Government) Location: Hawthorne, CA SpaceX is actively developing technologies to make humans explore the stars, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars. Starlink, our satellite constellation, provides low‑latency broadband worldwide. The Account Management team serves as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring contract terms are fulfilled and identifying new business opportunities. Responsibilities Act as the primary point of contact for a robust portfolio of assigned government customers from contract signature onward, including onboarding, ongoing account management, and long‑term retention/growth. Deliver impeccable customer service, acknowledging and resolving issues efficiently. Build relationships to identify requirements and manage expectations. Collect, communicate, and champion customer feedback internally to influence product and technical development. Retain and grow the value of accounts. Identify readiness levels, requirements, schedules, and risks to realize forecasted revenue on or ahead of schedule. Serve as the team’s internal expert in the State & Local / Local & Regional government vertical and shape strategic direction. Autonomously design and lead the implementation of new processes and system improvements that accelerate growth or enable the team to scale. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree; or high school diploma/equivalency certificate and 5+ years of professional experience in business development, operations, engineering, or account management. 3+ years of experience in account management, customer success, or business operations. 1+ year of experience working with government customers. Preferred Skills and Experience 3+ years of experience supporting a technical product or service. 3+ years working with State & Local / Local & Regional government customers. Significant knowledge or experience in public sector, telecommunications, manufacturing, satellite communications, and/or supply chain. Experience managing multiple complex projects under tight deadlines and resource constraints. Experience building long‑term customer relationships with empathy, active listening, and resilience. Technical knowledge of Starlink or telecommunications (satellites, ground network, user terminals, or related technology). Ability to synthesize unique requirements and suggest smart solutions or features. Track record of sound business judgment and successful recommendation adoption. Ability to negotiate successfully after contract signing. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentations at all levels. Ability to manage execution of significant or complex contracts, including intake, renegotiation, and schedules. Additional Requirements Must be available to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed to support critical milestones or operations shifts. Must be willing to travel to other SpaceX offices and customer locations as needed. Learn more about ITAR. Compensation and Benefits Pay range: Account Manager $115,000 – $150,000 per year. Base salary may vary based on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to base salary, employees may be eligible for long‑term incentives (stock, stock options, or cash awards), discretionary bonuses, and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
