Shift – Day Shift, 4x10-Hour (11:00 AM – 09:30 PM)

Job Description
Registered Nurse – Operating Room responsible for providing perioperative nursing care in a fast-paced surgical environment across multiple specialties including orthopedic, neuro, vascular, thoracic, bariatric, gynecology, urology, ENT, plastics, trauma, and general surgery procedures. The RN will support surgical teams while ensuring patient safety, sterile technique, and adherence to OR protocols.

The role requires strong circulating experience in diverse surgical specialties, critical thinking skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary surgical teams. The RN must also maintain competency in phlebotomy and IV placement as required for all RNs.

Requirements

Mandatory Skills / Experience
Minimum 3 years of OR RN experience required
Travel experience REQUIRED
General OR experience REQUIRED
Epic charting experience preferred
Experience with orthopedic total joint and trauma procedures required
Experience with neuro surgery procedures required
Experience with GYN and urology procedures required
Experience with vascular surgery procedures required
Experience with thoracic surgery procedures required
Experience with Da Vinci Xi Surgical System required
Experience with laparoscopic assisted procedures required
Experience with total joint replacement required
Experience with spinal fusion and orthopedic spine procedures required
Experience with craniotomy and VP shunt procedures required
Experience with vascular procedures including EVAR and carotid surgeries required
Experience with thoracic procedures including VATS and thoracotomy required
Experience with bariatric procedures required
Experience with ENT procedures required
Experience with urology procedures required
Experience with trauma and amputation procedures required
Experience with specimen handling and labeling required
Experience with blood and blood product administration required
Knowledge of laser safety and radiation safety required
Experience with universal protocol/time out procedures required
Strong infection control and sterile technique knowledge required
Phlebotomy competency REQUIRED
IV placement competency REQUIRED
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced operating room environment

Surgical Experience Required
Orthopedic and spine procedures
Neuro procedures including craniotomy and spinal fusion
General surgery including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, and Whipple procedures
Vascular procedures including aneurysm repair and carotid interventions
Thoracic procedures including VATS and thoracotomy
Gynecology procedures including hysterectomy and D&C
Urology procedures including cystoscopy and prostatectomy
ENT procedures including tracheostomy and sinus surgery
Bariatric procedures including gastric bypass and sleeve
Plastic surgery procedures
Robotics using Da Vinci Xi Surgical System

Certifications
BLS certification required
CNOR certification preferred
