ABOUT RIMERE

Rimere is a deep technology company developing plasma-based systems to reform base materials into higher value materials made from the same base elements. Our current focus is reforming Natural Gas into graphene and/or high value carbon nano materials along with “green” hydrogen.  Rimere is entering an active phase of commercial market development, partner engagement, and proving scale.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Rimere is hiring a Chief of Staff to help the company meet its technology objectives by running the leadership team’s operating cadence and driving the cross-functional and operational work that would otherwise draw on technical time. The role reports to the Chief Technology Officer and works closely with the Chairman and the Chief Commercial Officer.

The role leads the leadership team’s operating rhythm and cross-functional initiatives, oversees operations and infrastructure, and provides hands-on support to the leaders who own finance, investor relations, hiring, corporate matters and commercial work. It suits someone who takes work from first draft to finished, holds commitments across several leaders at once, and keeps a small team focused on the technology.

This role is based on site, full time, in Lafayette, Colorado, working alongside the technical team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Operating Rhythm & Execution

• Run the leadership team’s planning and sprint cadence, including agendas, priorities and progress reporting against technology and company milestones
• Track commitments and decisions across the leadership team and drive open items to completion
• Manage executive calendars and coordinate internal and external meetings
• Prepare briefing materials and documents for leadership review and sign-off

Leadership Support

• Support the Chief Technology Officer in delivering technology objectives, tracking milestones and clearing the operational and administrative work that slows technical progress
• Support the Chairman on investor relations, including investor materials, follow-ups and the data room
• Support the C-Suite with financial planning and corporate matters, including budget reporting inputs and legal and intellectual property deadlines
• Support the Chief Commercial Officer on projects, events and follow-through
• Support hiring managers across the company through recruiting and onboarding

Cross-Functional Initiatives

• Lead initiatives that span functions or lack a single owner, from scoping through completion
• Drive regulatory, compliance and certification work to completion with outside consultants and vendors, and prepare the documentation they require
• Lead grant and other non-dilutive funding applications, coordinating technical, budget and partner inputs through submission
• Gather technical inputs efficiently so items close with minimal demand on the technical team’s time
• Track the deadlines, renewals and reporting obligations tied to these initiatives

Operations & Infrastructure

• Build and maintain the company’s operating infrastructure, including internal tools, processes and documentation, so a small team can scale
• Manage key vendor and contractor relationships, including contracts, renewals and spend against budget
• Keep the office and facilities running smoothly, handling routine logistics, delegating them across the team, and/or automating them

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

• Three to seven years of experience in operations, chief of staff, program management or a similar role, ideally in a startup or small company
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects, including regulatory or compliance work, from scoping through completion
• Strong writing and organizational skills, with comfort preparing documents for executive and external audiences
• Ability to manage priorities across several leaders and hold people to commitments with tact
• Comfortable operating in a lean environment with limited administrative support

Preferred

• Experience in deep tech, energy, advanced materials, manufacturing or another regulated industrial setting
• Experience preparing grant or government funding applications
• Familiarity with environmental, health and safety, insurance or R&D tax credit processes
• Working knowledge of budgeting and financial reporting
