Certified medical assistant or registered medical assistant.Has general knowledge of nursing theory and practice.Has been educated in basic pharmacology and the administration of medications.CPR provider certification within 6 months.Job SummaryProvides nursing care to patients as directed by the provider utilizing the nursing process. Secures clinic areas nightly.Proficient in EPIC including retrieving patient records, entering patient data (e-form) and locking record.Greets patients on arrival.Registers and enters patient data into the Health Information system. Scans insurance card information.Admits patients, taking brief history and vitals.Performs procedure set-up and assists provider as indicated.Discharges patient with prescriptions/instructions and documents in patient's chart.Maintains adequate medical supply and medication inventory.Schedules surgeries or referrals as ordered, attain prior authorizations for surgeries when needed, provides patient education and instruction information.Familiar with policies in Policystat, including nursing, registration and disaster policies.Performs other duties as assigned by the Office Manager.RequirementsScreener Questions: CMA - LicensingThis position requires one of the following: Registered Medical Assistant License (RMA), Certified Medical Assistant License (CMA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
