Plumber Associate

Responsibilities Installs, maintains, and repairs plumbing systems under the supervision of a Foreman Plumber. Repairs or alters plumbing, steam, gas, and water systems, including estimating costs; repairs pipes, opens closed drains, and welds pipes. Handles plumbing fittings and performs cuts, threads, and bends using a cutting torch and other equipment. Locates, marks, cuts openings in walls, ceilings, and floors to install or repair pipes, fittings, or fixtures. Installs and repairs fixtures such as sinks, toilets, bathtubs, water heaters, hot water tanks, and garbage disposal units; replaces or repairs burst pipes. Joins and secures pipes using epoxy, welding, soldering, brazing, fusing, caulking, clamps, brackets, or hangers; tests and inspects systems for leaks and malfunctions. Assists in scheduling work orders, completes paperwork, and maintains shop facilities and equipment. Uses the Boys Town vehicle to transport supplies and equipment to work locations. Schedule & Availability Tuesday‑Friday 7a.m. – 5:30p.m. with rotational on‑call duties. Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Physical & Environmental Requirements Moderate to heavy physical activity: stoop, bend, kneel, and roll occasionally lift up to 50lb without assistance and up to 100lb with assistance. Work in crawl spaces, attics, roofs, and closets; may work at heights of 10ft or more. Exposure to outdoor temperatures ranging from extreme heat to extreme cold, shop dust, noise, and chemicals. Qualifications Minimum of 2years of plumbing and construction experience. Valid driver’s license with a good driving record; annual Motor Vehicle Registration (MVR) check required. Able to understand and interpret written and verbal instructions. Good communication skills and professional demeanor. Strong organizational and time‑management abilities.
