This is an exciting opportunity for a physicist who wants meaningful ownership over equipment performance, quality systems, and patient safety—while collaborating closely with Radiation Oncology, therapy teams, and leadership.New grads with ~2 years of experience are strongly encouraged to apply.What You'll DoIn this role, you'll support safe, accurate radiation delivery and help maintain the department's technical excellence by:Operating and maintaining therapeutic equipment and supporting overall equipment performanceLeading or supporting linear accelerator calibration, routine maintenance, and quality assurance (QA)Supporting treatment workflows, including daily linac treatments, daily QA, and treatment planning (including 3D and IMRT)Participating in simulation and low-dose-rate (LDR) brachytherapy support, as applicableServing as a key technical advisor to the Radiation Safety Officer; preference for candidates who can also assume Radiation Safety Officer responsibilities (dual-role)What We're Looking ForTechnical and professional strengthsStrong clinical Radiation Oncology foundation and comfort with fast-moving clinical environmentsDemonstrated ability in linac calibration and QA activitiesExcellent written and verbal communication, organization, and prioritization skillsStrong mathematical/computer background; confident with software tools and clinical interfacesAbility to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating across departmentsExercises strong judgment and critical thinking; maintains reliable attendanceRequired Education & Board CertificationMaster's or PhD in Medical Physics or related fieldBoard certification in Therapeutic Radiological Physics via ABR or certification through the American Board of Medical Physics (ABMP) in Radiation Oncology PhysicsExperiencePreferred: ~5 years as a staff medical physicist with demonstrated Radiation Oncology experienceAlso welcome: early-career candidates (including new grads with ~2 years experience)Maintains certification with ABR and/or ABMP (as applicable)Active membership in AAPM preferred/expected per client standardsPhysical/Role RequirementsExtensive sitting with periodic standing/walkingMay lift up to 20 lbsSignificant use of computer/phone/office equipmentAdequate visual acuity; ability to grasp/handle objectsClear communication skills (reading, writing, speaking in person/by phone)May require occasional off-site travelAdditional DetailsUnion affiliation: NoneEqual Opportunity EmployerBenefitsMedical insurance — choice of Premium, Basic, or High-Deductible plan (HDHP includes an HSA with a $167/month employer contribution), plus prescription coverageOpen-access dental and vision plansRetirement: 401(a) plan with 4% employer contribution plus up to an additional 2% employer match (position-dependent); 457 deferred-compensation and Roth options; 403(b) accountsPaid time off up to 25 days a year, plus sick leave, bereavement, and jury-duty payEmployer-paid basic life ($35,000) and AD&D ($35,000); short- and long-term disabilityTuition reimbursement plus BAH Family Scholarship ProgramFlexible spending options including dependent/elder care24/7 Teladoc telehealth, 24/7 on-site fitness center, Employee Assistance Program, and peer-support program
