Diagnostic Technologist II

Overview Provide diagnostic quality radiologic imaging under the direction of a Physician while maintaining proper radiation protection standards. Follow guidelines for radiation safety while imaging gently. Deliver a high level of patient care and customer service to promote patient satisfaction. Work within a full hospital services environment, providing direct care to high‑acuity patients, including emergency, inpatient and outpatient classes, supporting trauma and ICU. Responsibilities Produce images of diagnostic quality, process, and prepare images for interpretation by the radiologist. Provide radiation protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards. Use appropriate exposure factors, collimation and proper distance with documentation. Assume responsibility for personal and team safety. Ensure appropriate exam is ordered for the number of images provided and attached to the correct patient folder. Confirm levels of supplies and equipment to meet requirements for patient care and specific departments. Document LMP, fluoro time, radiologist, number of images, appropriate history and other required documentation. Ensure coordination of daily work duties within the team and coordinate timing of exams. Ensure images have entered PACS before study is complete. Confirm physician orders are complete including signature, ordered study, reason for test (diagnosis/CPT codes) and obtain missing information before treatment. Report equipment malfunction and need for adjustment and/or repairs. Assist in education and training of new employees, students, and ancillary personnel. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the work area and orderliness. Minimum Qualifications Technical school diploma or graduate of accredited radiography program or equivalent. Less than 1 year of completion of a radiologic program. Ability to deal effectively and ethically with medical and confidential information. Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems. Understanding of how to effectively and safely use radiation‑producing equipment. Knowledge of medical technology and terminology. American Heart Association Basic Life Support – State of Pennsylvania. RT – Registered Technologist, Radiology – State of Pennsylvania. Preferred Qualifications Associate’s Degree, Graduate of Health Science Program. Physical Demands Lift and carry up to 25 lbs; frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use. Patient care activities may include kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR. Work Information Work Shift: Evening Shift. Address: 2545 Schoenersville Rd.
