Propheticsoftware
Prophetic Software is not able to sponsor employment visas now or in the future. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship to be considered for this role. About Prophetic: Real estate development is a multi-billion-dollar industry that has run on fragmented data, manual processes, and gut instinct for decades. Prophetic is changing that. We're building the AI-native platform that enables homebuilders, developers, and investors to find, analyze, and act on land opportunities from a single system — powered by proprietary technologies that process billions of data points across all 50 states. We are the market leader in our space, and our customers don't just use the product — they love it. We're not making teams more efficient. We're changing how they operate. Prophetic is scaling fast — demand is outpacing our ability to hire, and we're just getting started. This is a once-in-a-lifetime team: sharp, low ego, deeply collaborative, and obsessed with building the best product in the industry. Come disrupt an industry with us. About the Role: Prophetic ships features every two to three weeks across a platform that processes billions of data points and supports million-dollar land acquisition decisions. You'll join our QA team to build the testing infrastructure, automation, and quality culture that keeps pace with that velocity. This is not a manual testing role. You'll design and implement automated test coverage across the full stack, build production monitoring canaries, and develop AI-assisted QA tooling that helps the entire engineering team ship with confidence. You'll work across our geospatial platform, from backend API endpoints to frontend map interactions, ensuring that what we ship is what our customers can trust. You'll report to our QA Lead, working alongside engineers who approach quality as a shared responsibility. You're expected to use AI tooling daily as a standard part of the QA workflow. What You'll Do: Design and implement automated test suites across the platform using Playwright and modern testing frameworks. Build and maintain production monitoring — synthetic canaries, alerting, and observability dashboards — to catch issues before customers do. Develop AI-powered QA tooling that helps engineers assess risk, generate test plans, and identify code hotspots before code ships. Perform exploratory testing on new features, stress-testing edge cases across geospatial data, map layers, and AI-powered workflows. Assess and triage production error sources across backend logs, frontend RUM, and mobile surfaces. Build and execute test automation strategies that support a twice-weekly release cadence with CI/CD gates. Map and track the test pyramid — identify coverage gaps and build the plan to close them. Coordinate with engineering on architecture reviews, feature flag complexity, and pre-release quality gates. Participate in release planning, deployment process design, and on-call rotation. Use AI tooling as part of your daily QA workflow — our team approaches testing AI-first. What You Need: 3+ years in QA engineering, SDET, or test automation roles. Strong experience with end-to-end test automation frameworks (Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium). Comfort writing production-quality code in Python or TypeScript. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into deployment workflows. Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools (Datadog, New Relic, or similar). A quality-first mindset — you believe the best bugs are the ones that never happen. Strong analytical skills for root-cause analysis across complex, data-heavy systems. Comfort with AI development tooling. Strong sense of product ownership. Familiarity with a fast-paced startup environment. Nice to Have: Experience with geospatial data, mapping platforms (Mapbox, Leaflet), or PostGIS. Background in building AI-assisted testing tools or workflows. Experience with API testing, load testing, or performance testing at scale. Familiarity with Datadog Synthetics, RUM, or APM. Background in proptech, real estate, or construction technology. Why Prophetic: The team. Wide expertise, sharp, low ego, and genuinely fun to work with. We have each other's backs and we celebrate wins together. Real ownership and impact from day one. Our customers make million-dollar decisions on our platform. Your work matters immediately. AI-native product and AI-native workflows. Every team — engineering, sales, operations — runs on AI tooling daily. Founder-led transparency. Leadership shares the financials, the strategy, and the hard calls with the whole team. High growth, high demand. The product works, customers love it, and we are hiring to keep up. No shortage of opportunity here. Flexibility. Remote, hybrid, or in-office with a great Portland, OR headquarters. Self-starters who thrive in ambiguity. We're a startup. If you need someone to tell you what to do every morning, this isn't the place; if you come alive solving hard problems with smart people, it is. Benefits (US-based Full-time): 100% medical, dental & vision insurance coverage for you; 30% coverage for dependentsCompetitive salary and meaningful early-stage equityUnlim Unlimited PTO Hybrid/Remote stipend In-office perks: snacks, drinks, coffee, ping-pong table, and more — plus cuddles from Olive, our in-office Doberman! Budget for intra-office travel 2–3 annual team meetups in person How We Work: These four themes are how we think, build, and lead: Truth — Say the hard thing. We speak plainly, flag problems early, and share what's actually going on. Precision — Sign your name to it. Our customers make million-dollar decisions on our data. We get the details right. Velocity — Speed compounds. Waiting doesn't. We ship daily and launch features every two to three weeks. Ownership — Own it, then solve it. We own outcomes, not tasks. If something's broken, we fix it. EEO: Prophetic Software is an equal opportunity employer.
