Full Time Shift Day Work Schedule Summary VP Area U of U Health - Academics Department 00265 - Cardiothoracic Division Location Campus City Salt Lake City, UT Type of Recruitment External Posting Pay Rate Range $62,313 to $142,953 Close Date 12/29/2026 Priority Review Date (Note - Posting may close at any time) Job Summary Under minimal supervision, responsible for planning, organizing, directing and/or controlling all aspects pertaining to clinical research functions of assigned department’s internal and external customer service, human resource and financial management operations pertaining to areas including (but not limited to) clinical data, standardization, statistical analysis, monitoring clinical trials, and development and completion of clinical studies. Acts as a catalyst between the department and its customers and staff to ensure continuity and quality of service and care. Responsibilities Forecasts, develops and implements policies and procedures in the areas of customer service, human resources and budgetary goals and objectives that are consistent with University of Utah’s policies. Markets and promotes new and existing programs and services to internal and external customers. Participates in University-wide committees to establish customer service standards and administrative plans and policies. Facilitates cooperative and collaborative community and institutional relationships. Ensures customer satisfaction by analyzing complaints, concerns and suggestions and providing appropriate follow-through. Develops departmental strategies consistent with the assigned departments continuous quality improvement program. Ensures competency of staff through the development and/or presentation of educational programs and through on going staff performance evaluations. Minimum Qualifications EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT : 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor’s degree = 4 years of directly related work experience). Department may hire employee at one of the following job levels Senior Supervisor, Clinical Research: Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 4 years or a master’s (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience. Manager, Clinical Research: Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 6 years or a master’s (or equivalency) + 4 years of directly related work experience. Senior Manager, Clinical Research: Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 8 years or a master’s (or equivalency) + 6 years of directly related work experience.
