Surgical Technologist

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up sterile field and gather supplies for surgical cases based on knowledge of instruments and equipment to be used.
• Pass instruments to surgeons during surgical procedures.
• Perform count procedures per policy during surgical cases.
• Function under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).

Requirements:

• Licensure, Certification, or Registration for Hire:
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST), Tech in Surgery-Certified (TS-C), or Certified Operating Room and Surgical Technician (CORST) preferred.
• Licensure, Certification, or Registration for Continued Employment:
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) Healthcare Provider Certification.
• Must achieve CST, TS-C, or CORST certification within 24 months of hire.
• Experience:
• 0-2 years of experience as a surgical technologist required.
• Experience working in an acute care setting as a nursing assistant or aide (if no surgical technologist experience).
• Education/Training:
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology Program, military training program, Licensed Practical Nursing Program, or Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program (RN Interns Only).
