Production Manager

Production Manager – Arlington, TX This Senior Leader position involves managing the company’s resources to improve productivity and minimize downtime while increasing profits and reducing costs. It consists of meeting goals, creating workflow policies and procedures, creating schedules, and encouraging staff to put their best foot forward at all times so that the entire operation functions efficiently. Responsibilities Develop and implement policies and procedures for various production activities, including verifying incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposing of materials, and maintaining a current inventory. Perform inspections of the physical condition of production equipment. Prepare work orders for repairs or requisitions for replacement of equipment. Collaborate with department heads to coordinate operational activities with other functions, including production, sales, records control, and purchasing. Follow and maintain all Quality Assurance, HACCP, SQF requirements, and Occupational Health and Safety regulations, ensuring all employees in the department comply. Complete all required training (e.g., Leadership, Equipment, and Operational), ensure employee adherence to company practices and procedures, and apply corrective action when needed. Conduct interviews, hires, training, and retention of staff. Conduct performance monitoring (e.g., probationary, annual evaluation, and performance objectives) of staff; initiate follow‑through with disciplinary action and termination in consultation with Human Resources when appropriate for the department. Mentor, motivate, and develop staff; act as their role models and resources. Develop the department’s capital and operational budget. Routinely monitor, manage, and control the budget; analyze variances, take appropriate action, and develop plans for productivity improvements. Perform other duties as assigned. Good written, verbal, organizational, and communication skills and problem‑solving capabilities. Good time management and organizational skills. Good understanding of USDA regulations (US only). Ability to solve business problems and interpret various instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule formats. Ability to immediately perceive auditory warning signals (bells, alarms, horns, etc.) that warn of equipment start‑up, movement, or approach during warehouse operations. Ability to prepare and deliver reports, business correspondence, and presentations and speak at minor functions as a departmental representative. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently or within a team environment. Ability to develop solutions to problems of moderate scope and complexity and reference policies and practices for guidance. Knowledge of spreadsheets, word processing, presentation, email, and internet software applications. Equipment / Tools / Technology Desktop or laptop computer. Networked printer/copier/scanner.
