Ultimately, the Lab Assistant contributes to the overall effectiveness of the healthcare team by providing reliable and timely laboratory support.Minimum Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent.Completion of a phlebotomy training program.Current certification in phlebotomy from a recognized organization.Preferred Qualifications:Experience working in a clinical laboratory or healthcare setting.Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and regulations.Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).Responsibilities:Perform venipunctures and capillary collections on patients of all ages, ensuring comfort and safety.Label and process blood samples accurately, following established protocols and procedures.Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laboratory workspace, including equipment and supplies.Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members regarding procedures and results.Skills:The required skills for this position include proficiency in phlebotomy techniques, which are essential for performing blood draws safely and effectively.
