EXAMPLES OF DUTIESSchedules, assigns, oversees, and reviews the work of the staff; Provides staff training and assistance; Conducts performance evaluations; Determines priorities and plans unit work; Establishes and maintains unit procedures; Develops or makes recommendations on the development of policies and standards; Acts as liaison with other operating units, agencies and outside officials regarding unit policies and procedures; Coordinates unit activities with the activities of other tax units and with data processing; Assists in the selection and training of staff; Prepares reports and correspondence; May monitor examination work by reviewing reports of examinations; May conduct highly complex and difficult hearings; Performs related duties as required.KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITYConsiderable knowledge of relevant agency policies and procedures; the principles and practices of accounting and auditing; Knowledge of and ability to apply relevant state and federal unemployment compensation laws, statutes, and regulations; Considerable interpersonal skills; oral and written communication skills; Ability to utilize computer software; Supervisory ability.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL EXPERIENCE Eight (8) years of experience in accounting or auditing.
