Secondary English Teacher
Rossville Middle/High School is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Secondary English Teacher to join our team beginning August 3, 2026. We are looking for an educator who is passionate about literacy, critical thinking, and fostering meaningful relationships with students.
Position Overview
The successful candidate will teach English Language Arts courses at the middle and/or high school level, supporting students in developing strong reading, writing, speaking, and analytical skills. This individual will contribute to a collaborative school culture focused on continuous improvement and student success.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction in English Language Arts
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners
- Utilize data to inform instructional practices and support student growth
- Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment
- Collaborate with colleagues through Professional Learning Communities (PLCs)
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff
- Participate in school and district initiatives and professional development opportunities
Qualifications
Valid Indiana teaching license in Secondary English/Language Arts (or ability to obtain)
Strong knowledge of Indiana Academic Standards for English Language Arts
Effective classroom management and instructional skills
Commitment to student achievement and well-being
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
