Job Title Manager, Data Center Preconstruction Location Dallas, Texas Employment Type Full time Responsibilities Participate in feasibility studies, site evaluations, and risk assessments to optimize project planning. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including architects, engineers, general contractors, and regulatory bodies, to drive project success. Engage with the procurement team during the OFCI vendor bidding process and bid leveling. Develop best practices for procurement of OFCI equipment for Prologis data centers. Implement project controls best practices for all OFCI equipment, including tracking and monitoring buyout, submittal review, approval, release for production, and ultimate delivery onsite. Ensure implementation of AutoDesk Construction Cloud platform program‑wide for Prologis Data Centers. Participate in general contractor requests for proposals, receive, evaluate, and level responses, and conduct contractor interviews. Develop conceptual project design and construction schedules in P6 for use during the bidding and design phase. Update schedules weekly and monthly as required. Review contractor cost estimation, budgeting, and procurement strategies to ensure project success. Participate in the review of project estimate deliverables from conceptual to final GMP. Oversee project buyout by the general contractor from GMP to complete buyout. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, building codes, and environmental and safety standards. Work closely with supply chain and legal teams to establish efficient contracting structures. Provide project‑level reporting on forecasts, risk assessments, and key performance metrics. Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience in construction, design, or engineering with a focus on pre‑construction and large‑scale data center projects. Proven track record in leading multi‑disciplinary teams and managing pre‑construction activities for complex, high‑value projects. Experience in data center design and construction process, including greenfield and retrofit projects. Ability to travel to projects as necessary. Preferred Qualifications Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Strong commercial acumen with expertise in cost estimation, procurement strategies, and contract negotiation. In‑depth knowledge of regulatory requirements, building codes, and sustainability standards within the data center industry. Computer proficiency: P6 Scheduling Software, Google Earth, ACAD viewer, and general Microsoft Office tools. Self‑motivated ability to multi‑task and prioritize with minimal direction. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Positive, can‑do attitude focused on customer satisfaction, efficiency, and effectiveness. Willingness and capability to leverage emerging technology, automation, and AI tools to improve efficiency, quality, and speed. Exercises sound judgment, creative thinking, and accountability for outcomes. Salary Range $123,000 – $169,000 plus bonus target, determined by location, education, experience, and market data.
