General Production Worker - 20/hour starting wage!!!!!

Job Description

This role supports a specialized production facility that manufactures packaging systems for labware, test kits, vials, and surgical kits used in the medical field. As a General Production Worker, you coordinate activities on the conveyor line, organize work orders at load and unload stations, and help ensure safe, accurate, and efficient processing of products. You complete required documentation, support the safe operation of the system, and report directly to a shift or process supervisor while occasionally overseeing plant operations in their absence.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all activities on the conveyor line by organizing work orders at load and unload stations.
• Load and unload product from conveyor systems and place totes onto pallets as required.
• Complete all required paperwork and documentation accurately, including run data sheets, work orders, and load/unload sheets.
• Assist the Shift Supervisor and Process Supervisor in the safe operation of the production system.
• Take responsibility for operation of the plant in the absence of the Shift Supervisor and/or Process Supervisor.
• Prepare dosimeters for work orders scheduled to be run under the direction of the Process Supervisor.
• Operate the dosimeter reader and take accurate readings for each work order.
• Assemble processed dosimeters with run data sheets, work orders, and load/unload sheets to create complete production records.
• Maintain accurate downtime logs and system configuration records in accordance with facility procedures.
• Record input, dosimeter, and unload information in the computer systems promptly and precisely.
• Follow and perform emergency procedures required by license and facility guidelines.
• Monitor the system during operation and promptly report system problems to Maintenance Supervisors or Maintenance Technicians.
• Replace designated mechanical components of the system when needed and assist Maintenance with repairs as required.
• Perform general production, inspection, packing, and machine operation tasks as needed on the line.
• Assist with other tasks and cross-functional duties as assigned by the Supervisor to support overall plant operations.

Essential Skills

• 1 to 3 years of experience as a general production worker within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience in general production, general labor, and machine operation.
• Ability to lift 20–30 pounds consistently throughout the shift.
• Comfortable reading and writing in English for documentation and record-keeping purposes.
• Ability to perform basic inspection and packing tasks with attention to detail.
• Capability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to safety procedures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 1 to 3 years of experience operating a Toyota sit-down forklift.
• Experience working as a production associate in a medical supplies manufacturing facility.
• Experience operating industrial machinery in a manufacturing or processing environment.
• Comfort working in a smaller, family-oriented team setting.
• Ability to learn and follow specialized procedures related to dosimeters and system configuration.

Work Environment

The facility operates in a non-climate-controlled environment, with heating and cooling units positioned throughout the floor to support comfort. The production area features two conveyor systems where employees load and unload totes onto pallets as part of the packaging process. The team is relatively small, with around 30 employees, fostering a close-knit, family-oriented atmosphere. Standard work attire includes safety glasses and steel-toe shoes, and certain branded clothing such as hoodies and T-shirts is provided for use at work.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lewis Center, OH.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
