Job Description

Title: Registered Nurse – Palliative Care

Schedule: Shift: Days/Nights - 12-hour rotations

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• BLS certification required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Clinical skills: pain & symptom management, opioid equianalgesic dosing, IV starts/maintenance, peripheral line care, phlebotomy, oxygen delivery, non-invasive airway management, telemetry/MS dysrhythmia recognition and management
• RN must have valid compact or state license in hand at time of submission

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients in palliative care, focusing on symptom management and end-of-life comfort.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.

Administer pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions as needed.

Conduct regular assessments to monitor patient condition and response to treatment.

Educate patients and families regarding care plans and resources available.

Ensure accurate documentation in the electronic medical record.

Compliance / Notes

Orientation: 72 hours

Weekend coverage: as needed per unit

Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting requirements as soon as the contract is signed.

Returned-to-office response time required with submission.

Two professional references required; at least one must be from a manager or director.
