Development Engineer

As a Product Development Engineer, you will be responsible for launching new product development and new applications at the customer and developing top down functional requirement and design, simulate and qualify full product to meet customer needs. You will have end to end responsibility for flawless launch, with performance / cost / reliability / APQP and timing.Responsibilities Include:End to End Product Ownership, meeting all turbocharger functional requirements (Performance, Reliability, Quality, Costs & Timing) to meet engine specificationsCustomer Interface - Single Point of Contact to Customer for LaunchMatching, Design, Simulation, Validation (DVP&R), Turbo Release (TRA)Accountable for Internal & External APQP (advanced product planning quality) on full Bill Of Material - Sign off turbo, component PPAP deviations (APQP output)Accountable for 2D & 3D creation and quality according to documented Design Standards & guidelinesEnsure proper application & use of standard Design processes & tools, as defined by functional matrixSupport Design quality issue investigations (8D's) and lead implementation of corrective actionsBasic Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field3+ years of experience with developing and/or launching products in the automotive or similar industryProven track record with product validation and launch experience as well as product development and component design in automotive industry• Experience with direct customer interface• Strong communications skills and sense of urgency• Team player, growth and customer focus Additional Desired Qualifications:Strategic, analytical, customer management, and negotiation skills.Capacity to work autonomously with high degrees of ambiguity.Exceptional communication, influencing and interpersonal skills.Ability to influence and connect across all levels of the organization.Confirmed track record in a commercial role with developed customer relationship management skills and impeccable professionalism in your approach.Beyond offering the technical and functional expertise inherent in the position, this person will be a leader for change in an increasingly complex and changing global market.
