Work closely with providers, nurses, and administrative staff to deliver an exceptional patient experience.Role Overview:Prepare exam rooms and ensure cleanliness and safety, while helping to maintain par levels of medical suppliesComplete rooming functions, reviewing allergies, medical records, and medication lists as requiredObtain vital signs, perform point-of-care tests, obtain blood specimens via venipuncture, and perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) according to established policiesPrepare patients for procedures, assemble appropriate supplies and equipment, and assist as directed by clinicianKey Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalentGraduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program and eligibility for relevant specialized certifications.National Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or registration by a recognized credentialing body such as:Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) through the American Association of Medical AssistantsRegistered Medical Assistant (RMA) through American Medical TechnologistsCertified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) through National Healthcare AssociationNational Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) through the National Center for Competency TestingCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification.Demonstrated strong organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.Basic proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and email systems.Previous experience in a medical assistant role within an outpatient setting is preferred.Familiarity with OSHA standards and multi-specialty experience in a high-volume setting is advantageous.Core Skills:Clinical Skills: Proficient in taking vital signs, performing electrocardiograms (EKGs), venipuncture, assisting with physical exams and procedures, and managing patient specimens.
