Position Overview The Chief Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the overall operation, maintenance, safety, and physical condition of the hotel. This role leads the engineering department and ensures all building systems, guest rooms, public spaces, and back‑of‑house areas are maintained to brand, safety, and ownership standards. Responsibilities Ensure all hotel systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, fire/life safety, kitchen, laundry, and exterior systems) are operated safely and efficiently. Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive preventive maintenance program. Supervise, train, schedule, and evaluate engineering staff. Lead capital projects, renovations, PIPs, and property rehabilitation. Coordinate vendors, inspections, audits, and compliance requirements. Maintain logs including Boiler Maintenance, Preventative Guestroom Maintenance, Emergency Systems inspections. Respond to building emergencies and participate in on‑call rotation. Other duties as assigned by the General Manager Measures of Accountability Timely completion of maintenance and PM tasks. Guest satisfaction related to maintenance response. Compliance with safety, code, and brand requirements and inspections. Proper expense control and management Qualifications Minimum five years hotel engineering experience. Supervisory experience required. Strong HVAC, electrical, plumbing knowledge. Ability to work flexible schedules and respond to emergencies. Education High school diploma required. Trade school or certifications preferred. Working Conditions Active role requiring standing, walking, bending, lifting, climbing, and exposure to mechanical rooms and outdoor conditions.
