Growing Privately Held Construction Company $150,000-$180,000 Base Salary + Generous Benefits, PTO, 401(k) & More Our client is a rapidly growing commercial construction company seeking a hands‑on, strategic Controller to lead accounting and finance operations. Reporting directly to ownership, this role will help guide the company through its next phase of growth as project sizes increase from the $5M-$8M range into larger, more complex $20M-$40M+ projects. What You’ll Do Lead accounting operations and mentor accounting staff Partner with ownership and leadership on financial strategy Manage WIP reporting, job costing, and project profitability Develop cash flow forecasts and long‑range financial projections Prepare and analyze financial statements and monthly reporting Oversee loan reporting, amortization schedules, payroll, and 401(k) administration Manage banking and surety relationships, including bonding support Create reporting tools, dashboards, and financial models Identify risks early and drive process improvements Leverage technology and AI to improve efficiency and scalability Build financial systems capable of supporting larger, longer‑duration projects Utilize Foundation, Procore, Advanced Excel, Microsoft Word, and internal forecasting tools to manage and analyze financial performance About the Business The company completes approximately 25 projects annually. While many projects range from $5M-$8M, they are increasingly securing projects valued at $20M-$40M+, with durations of 12-18 months. This growth creates greater complexity around cash flow management, forecasting, bonding, WIP schedules, and job costing. The Controller will play a key role in ensuring the company has the financial infrastructure to support continued expansion. What We’re Looking For 5+ years of Controller experience REQUIRED 10+ years of accounting and finance leadership experience preferred Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or other related field Construction accounting REQUIRED Experience supporting bonding, banking, and lending relationships Advanced Excel skills Experience with Foundation and Procore strongly preferred LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY Please Note: This position is open to candidates who are authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future visa sponsorship.
