Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to medical-surgical patients using the nursing process and established clinical standards
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
• Monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately to changes in status
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate and optimize patient care
• Delegate appropriate patient care activities to other members of the healthcare team
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Promote patient safety and evidence-based care practices
• Perform preceptor and charge nurse responsibilities as assigned
• Demonstrate professional accountability and commitment to continuous learning and development

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Current registered nurse (rn) license in the state of practice
• Current basic life support (bls) certification
• Advanced cardiovascular life support (acls) certification if required by the department
• Associate degree or diploma in nursing required
• Bachelor of science in nursing (bsn) preferred
• Minimum of two years of registered nurse experience required
• Nursing specialty certification preferred
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills
• Clinical skills appropriate to a medical-surgical setting
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
