Position: Critical Care Nurse (ICU/CCU)

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Critical Care Nurse to provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) or Coronary Care Unit (CCU). The successful candidate will apply scientific nursing principles to deliver high-quality care and collaborate effectively with healthcare team members.

Key Responsibilities:

• Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
• Prepare and administer prescribed medications (orally, subcutaneously, through IV) and accurately record administration details.
• Report any adverse reactions to medications or treatments according to nursing policies.
• Provide basic bedside care to patients in critical condition.
• Initiate and implement patient education plans as prescribed by physicians, including home care, nutrition, exercise, and medication management.
• Record patients' medical information and vital signs accurately.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to assess patients' conditions.
• Take samples for lab work and evaluate lab reports as needed.
• Assist physicians during examinations and treatments by preparing equipment and supplies.
• Respond to life-saving situations according to nursing standards and protocols.
• Document all care information concisely, accurately, and completely in a timely manner.
• Apply hemodynamic monitoring, phlebotomy, and IV protocols.
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment, interpreting and recording electronic displays such as central venous pressures and cardiac rhythms.
• Monitor catheters, leads, and tubing for proper placement and function.
• Initiate corrective actions as necessary based on monitoring equipment readings.

Qualifications:

• A valid BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• A valid professional nursing license within the state of practice or a nurse licensure compact.
• Verification of suicide training and demographic data via Nursys e-Notify for compact licenses.
• Proof of authorization to work in the United States.
• Previous critical care experience in a hospital setting is preferred.
