Advanced Mental Health Technician - Crisis Stabilization

General Summary: This role provides 24/7 crisis stabilization services for adults and youth experiencing mental health emergencies in a regional setting within the Midwest. The primary mission is to reduce inpatient hospital admissions, minimize law enforcement involvement, and engage individuals in outpatient treatment to support their recovery journey. The position involves delivering intensive, goal-oriented care to those requiring crisis stabilization, collaborating closely with clinical and community partners to ensure high-intensity support and promote community tenure.

Essential Functions:

• Deliver crisis stabilization services at a dedicated Crisis Stabilization Center.
• Engage clients positively and supportively, monitoring and documenting treatment progress, activities, and behaviors.
• Assist clients with daily living activities and support medication compliance and crisis management.
• Work collaboratively with community partners, caregivers, family members, physicians, and other providers until the crisis episode resolves.
• Under clinician supervision, help coordinate access to appropriate care levels post-assessment.
• Apply de-escalation techniques in intense situations and provide one-to-one client monitoring for safety as needed.
• Support scheduling of follow-up mental health appointments and facilitate successful reintegration into home, community, school, and outpatient services.
• Complete all required documentation, training, and competency reviews promptly and accurately.
• Work flexible hours including some nights and weekends based on community crisis needs.

Minimum Education & Experience Required:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Computer proficiency.

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Two or more years of professional experience in mental health services, crisis response, or related fields.
• Experience educating clients on self-care and improving daily living activities.

Licensure or Registration Required:

• Successful completion of background checks including child and adult abuse registries and motor vehicle screening.
• Completion of CPR and First Aid training within 60 days of employment.
• Valid driver's license, insurance, and reliable vehicle.
