Contract Position: NICU Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Duration: 13 Weeks

Shift: 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM

Unit Overview

This unit is dedicated to providing exceptional care to critically ill newborns. We are seeking qualified NICU Respiratory Therapists who are capable of handling infants as young as 32 weeks gestation.

Staffing and Patient Care

The unit operates with a team of:

Day Shift: 1 Supervisor and 7-9 Staff
Night Shift: 1 Supervisor and 7-9 Staff

Patient assignments are based on volume, with approximately 35-40 patients assigned per shift for respiratory therapy.

Responsibilities

The following responsibilities are expected:

Perform standard respiratory therapy procedures, including nebulizers, CPT, arterial blood gases, and ventilator management.
Assistance in inhaled nitric oxide administration, bronchoscopy, and intubation.
Transporting patients on mechanical ventilation within the hospital.

Qualifications

Required:
Candidates must possess adult respiratory experience in an acute care setting.

Preferred:
Candidates with adult critical care experience, particularly in ICU or ED settings, will be prioritized.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is someone who can effectively collaborate with team members within the respiratory therapy department as well as other healthcare disciplines throughout the facility.

Dress Code

Employees are required to wear olive green tops and black pants for their shifts.
