Primary Function of Organizational Unit

The North Carolina Central School of Law offers full-time day and part-time evening programs. Primary Purpose of Position

The Clinical Professor will teach courses in the discipline area of Law.

J.D. from an ABA accredited law school.

Licenses or Certification required by Statute or Regulation

Describe the specific tasks and responsibilities related to the function.

The Clinical Professor will develop and design curriculum plans to foster learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensure student engagement. The Clinical Professor will provide tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintain class related records, and assess student coursework. Maintain regularly scheduled office hours in order to advise and assist students.

Describe the specific tasks and responsibilities related to the function.

The Clinical Professor will conduct research in a particular field of knowledge, and publish findings in professional journals, books, and/or electronic media. Collaborate with colleagues to address teaching and research issues. Keep abreast of developments in their field by reading current literature, talking with colleagues, and participate in professional conferences.

Serve on various Law School and University committees that deal with institutional policies, departmental matters, and academic issues. Participate in campus and community events.
