We're looking for a Plant Manager to elevate our continuous manufacturing operations in Corsicana, TX expertly blending strategic oversight with hands-on engagement. This ensures our plant not only meets but exceeds performance targets through a relentless focus on our team and optimized processes. Reporting to the Senior Director of Operations, the Plant Manager will work within a matrixed environment, collaborate with shared services, and demonstrate a strong commitment to nurturing talent and building future leaders through dedicated people development and succession planning. We are particularly seeking a leader who has demonstrated experience in successfully leading teams through periods of significant transformation. GAF is searching for a Plant Manager to lead our newly constructed greenfield plant supporting GAF’s recycled asphalt shingle (RAS) efforts. The construction of the facility is complete, and the Plant Manager will immediately take charge of the ongoing commissioning and ramp-up phases. Moving forward, the Plant Manager will be responsible for meeting operational and financial business objectives as set by the Director of Operations. The Plant Manager has overall responsibility for the entire manufacturing facility, and oversees the development and implementation of organizational strategies, standards, and practices to achieve best-in-class performance. The Plant Manager is also an active member of the community, represents GAF’s interests in local affairs, and owns the financial performance of the site. Essential Duties Cultivating Excellence: Foster a vibrant culture of safety, continuous improvement, and mutual respect, where every team member is empowered to contribute to our success. Operational Stewardship: Lead all production activities within our continuous building materials process, ensuring peak performance, quality, and efficiency. Lean & CI Leadership: Spearhead the application of Lean methodologies and other Continuous Improvement tools to streamline workflows, enhance productivity, and significantly reduce waste. Reliability & Asset Health: Oversee comprehensive maintenance programs (preventative, predictive) to ensure the sustained reliability and longevity of all plant equipment, minimizing downtime. Drive proactive maintenance planning and leverage advanced troubleshooting methods to ensure maximum equipment uptime and performance. Safety & Environmental Champion: Drive an unwavering commitment to EHS, developing and enforcing robust safety protocols and environmental compliance programs that protect our team and planet. Lead environmental risk assessment and mitigation efforts, ensuring strict compliance management with all relevant environmental regulations and standards. Talent Development & Engagement: Identify and nurture talent, providing impactful coaching, feedback, and development opportunities. Actively implement succession planning strategies to identify and prepare future leaders within the plant. Champion employee engagement and effective conflict resolution. Data-Driven Decisions: Utilize strong data analysis skills to identify trends, optimize processes, and make informed, impactful decisions that drive plant performance. Accountability & Follow-Through: Establish clear performance metrics, ensuring accountability across all levels and consistently following through on commitments to achieve desired outcomes. Leading Through Transformation: Effectively lead and manage the plant and its team through periods of organizational change, technological adoption, and process evolution, ensuring smooth transitions and sustained performance. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Navigate and drive results effectively within a complex matrix environment, influencing and collaborating with multiple functions and stakeholders to achieve shared objectives. Qualifications Required Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 5+ years of manufacturing experience, including 5+ years in a significant people leadership role, preferably within a continuous process industry. This experience should include accountability for operational budgets, cost control initiatives, and contributing to capital expenditure planning. General Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Proven leadership in a continuous manufacturing environment, preferably in building materials. Deep practical experience with Continuous Improvement (CI) methodologies and a passion for problem-solving. Strong background in maintenance operations management and reliability engineering principles. Demonstrated expertise in maintenance planning and advanced troubleshooting methodologies. Exceptional talent for building, motivating, and developing high-performing teams, with a strong focus on engagement and a demonstrated ability to implement effective succession planning and people development programs. Unwavering commitment to safety culture leadership and environmental compliance. Proficiency in environmental risk assessment and mitigation, as well as comprehensive environmental compliance management. Skilled in managing complex matrix relationships and driving results through influence. Solid financial acumen, including budget management and cost optimization. A blend of technical expertise and highly developed interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated experience in successfully leading teams and operations through significant transformation and change initiatives. Proven ability to manage effectively in a matrix organizational structure, collaborating across departments to achieve strategic goals. Technical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite. Qualifications Preferred Demonstrated practical experience and leadership in applying Continuous Improvement (Lean, Six Sigma, TPM) methodologies to drive operational excellence and waste reduction, directly impacting profitability and cost efficiency. Proven expertise in maintenance operations management and reliability engineering principles, with a strong understanding of proactive maintenance planning and advanced troubleshooting that minimizes unplanned downtime and associated financial impact. Advanced communication, interpersonal, and change management skills, with a proven ability to lead teams through significant organizational and process transformations. Solid financial acumen, including proven experience in developing and managing operational budgets, executing cost optimization strategies, and contributing to capital expenditure proposals. Travel Requirements: Ability to travel up to 15% Base salary and/or rate of pay ranges listed are exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. Individual compensation offers will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to geographic location, relevant candidate experience and skill, education, and/or qualifications.
