Title I Campus-Parent Involvement Liaison

Job Description This supplemental position has been approved for the upcoming school year. This position is 100% funded under the ESSA Title I, Part A program and will require time and effort in the form of biannual certification. In the absence of Title I, Part A funds and/or the needs of the district, continuation of this position can be rescinded. Provide support to families with immigrant and English language learners to involve parents in the educational process and to ensure a smooth transition for students. Connect parents to community resources available for students. Provide in-school support for new students to navigate the educational system. Duties and Responsibilities The Parent Involvement Liaison must spend 90–95% of their day fulfilling the responsibilities defined in the job description or other duties as assigned as related to meeting the intent and purpose of Title I, Part A per TEA guidance. Plan parent involvement activities, in conjunction with campus principal and staff. Exercise good communication etiquette, develop rapport with parents, initiate parent contacts through phone, mail, and in person. Develop positive relationships between school and home to ensure student success. Maintain documentation of agendas, sign‑in sheets, and minutes for parent involvement meetings. Carry out parent education programs. Assist with parent conferences and parent communications with English‑to‑Spanish translations. Connect families to needed resources. Coordinate the revision of the parent involvement policy and parent compacts for the campus. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. Maintain confidentiality. Qualifications Education & Certification High School Diploma or GED Special Knowledge & Skills Proficient skills in typing, word processing, and file maintenance Effective interpersonal skills General computer knowledge General knowledge of school programs Ability to work with students and teachers effectively Mental Demands / Physical Demands / Environmental Factors Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); interpret policy, procedures, and data; maintain emotional control under stress.
