Registered Nurse – Correctional Healthcare

Shifts available: Days, afternoons, evenings.

Assignment Details

Contract length: 26–52 weeks.

Requirements

• Current, valid Registered Professional Nurse license in New York State.
• At least 1 year of nursing experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Experience with medication administration, vitals, physical assessments, health screenings, wound care, emergency response, and isolation precautions.
• Preferred experience in Med-surg, ambulatory care, or mental health.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and provide comprehensive nursing care to the patient population.
• Perform regular health assessments and screenings.
• Respond to emergencies and participate in rapid response teams.
• Provide wound care and dressing changes.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and practice isolation measures as necessary.

Compliance / Notes

In-person interview is required. A background check will be conducted prior to starting, which may take up to 4 weeks. COVID-19 vaccination is required, with medical exemptions only.
