Pay Rate: Starting at $45/hour , dependent on experience

Position Overview

Birch Agency is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist (OT) for a full-time, school-based maternity leave coverage opportunity in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. The therapist will support students in kindergarten through 5th grade, helping them develop the functional, sensory, and motor skills needed to participate successfully in classroom activities and increase their independence.

The ideal candidate is collaborative, organized, and committed to providing individualized occupational therapy services that support students educational and developmental goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct occupational therapy evaluations and assessments to identify students individual needs.

• Develop and implement individualized therapy plans aligned with students Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals.

• Provide occupational therapy services to support fine motor development, sensory processing, visual-motor integration, and functional independence.

• Help students develop the skills needed to participate successfully in classroom activities and daily routines.

• Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, families, and other related service providers.

• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal development and progress monitoring.

• Maintain accurate documentation, therapy notes, evaluations, and progress reports.

• Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed to support educational outcomes.

Qualifications

• Masters or doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.

• Active South Carolina Occupational Therapist license or eligibility to obtain licensure.

• Experience in a school-based or pediatric setting is a plus.

• Knowledge of IEP development and school-based occupational therapy practices.

• Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.

• Ability to work effectively with students with diverse developmental and educational needs.
