Position Summary 

The Embedded IT Manager serves as the primary technology point of contact for assigned enterprise clients throughout the Omaha metropolitan area. This role works closely with client leadership, employees, vendors, and InfiNet teams to keep technology initiatives moving, solve operational challenges, and make sure the client's technology supports the way their business actually works. 

Because strong relationships and an understanding of day-to-day operations are central to this role, the Embedded IT Manager is expected to be based in the Omaha area and regularly work onsite with assigned clients. Over time, the Embedded IT Manager becomes an extension of the client's team, developing a strong understanding of their people, processes, applications, vendors, priorities, and technology environment. 

This is a hands-on player-coach role that combines client IT leadership with direct technical execution. The Embedded IT Manager / Systems Administrator personally performs systems administration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and implementation work while also helping clients manage technology priorities, improve business processes, coordinate vendors, oversee projects, support business applications, and connect the right InfiNet resources to specialized needs. The role is expected to resolve technical issues directly when they fall within its scope and bring in additional InfiNet expertise when appropriate. 

The Embedded IT Manager also serves as an important connection between the client and InfiNet, advocating for client needs while helping clients take full advantage of InfiNet's technical expertise, services, and resources. 

Essential Responsibilities 

Client IT Management & Partnership 

• Serve as the primary IT management resource for assigned enterprise clients. 

• Build strong working relationships with client leadership, department managers, employees, and key stakeholders. 

• Develop a thorough understanding of each client's operations, technology environment, applications, vendors, and business priorities. 

• Participate in operational meetings, planning discussions, employee onboarding initiatives, department changes, and technology-related decision making. 

• Help clients prioritize technology needs and determine the appropriate next steps, resources, and ownership. 

• Maintain visibility into open technology initiatives and help ensure commitments and follow-ups are completed. 

• Serve as a consistent connection between the client organization and InfiNet. 

• Advocate for client needs internally and coordinate the appropriate InfiNet resources when additional expertise is required. 

Hands-On Systems Administration & Technical Support 

• Provide hands-on administration and support for client technology environments, both onsite and remotely. 

• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Microsoft 365, Azure, Microsoft Entra ID, Windows Server, Active Directory, endpoints, networks, virtualization platforms, backup systems, and security tools. 

• Manage user accounts, access permissions, group policies, device configurations, software deployments, and other day-to-day administrative tasks. 

• Diagnose and resolve escalated technical issues involving servers, workstations, cloud services, connectivity, applications, identity, and security. 

• Perform routine maintenance, patching, monitoring, backup verification, security remediation, and system health reviews. 

• Implement and support technology upgrades, migrations, new systems, and infrastructure improvements. 

• Maintain accurate technical documentation, system configurations, credentials, procedures, and client environment records. 

• Identify issues that require specialized expertise and coordinate an effective handoff to the appropriate InfiNet engineer or service team while retaining ownership through resolution. 

• Balance strategic and managerial responsibilities with the daily technical work required to keep client systems secure, reliable, and productive. 

Business Applications & Process Improvement 

• Learn and understand the business-critical applications clients rely on to operate. 

• Work with employees and department leaders to identify technology-related pain points and inefficiencies. 

• Gather business requirements and translate them into practical technology solutions. 

• Identify opportunities to improve workflows, reporting, integrations, and automation. 

• Support, enhance, and troubleshoot line-of-business applications and integrations. 

• Design, develop, and maintain custom solutions when appropriate, including solutions utilizing Microsoft .NET and Java. 

• Work with InfiNet technical resources and third-party vendors when solutions require specialized expertise. 

• Help clients continuously improve how technology supports their day-to-day operations. 

Vendor & Technology Coordination 

• Serve as a primary point of contact for software vendors, technology providers, and third-party consultants. 

• Participate in vendor meetings and coordinate activities between vendors, client stakeholders, and InfiNet teams. 

• Assist clients with evaluating software platforms, services, licensing, and technology options. 

• Track vendor commitments, issues, dependencies, and deliverables. 

• Help troubleshoot issues involving multiple vendors or systems by identifying ownership and coordinating the appropriate resources. 

• Maintain accountability and communication until issues and initiatives are resolved. 

Project & Initiative Management 

• Coordinate technology projects and initiatives from planning through implementation. 

• Define requirements, responsibilities, timelines, dependencies, and next steps. 

• Work closely with InfiNet service, engineering, project, and account management teams. 

• Coordinate client employees, vendors, and technical resources involved in projects. 

• Identify potential risks, roadblocks, and resource requirements. 

• Maintain clear communication with stakeholders throughout technology initiatives. 

• Help ensure projects are completed successfully and operational needs are addressed before handoff. 

IT Planning & Operations 

• Assist clients with technology budgeting, prioritization, lifecycle planning, and upcoming business needs. 

• Participate in planning for employee onboarding and offboarding, office changes, department growth, new applications, and other operational initiatives. 

• Establish and maintain appropriate technology standards, configurations, procedures, and technical documentation. 

• Provide guidance related to Microsoft 365, Azure, business applications, security, integrations, and general technology best practices. 

• Identify recurring technology issues and work with InfiNet teams to address underlying causes. 

• Stay informed about technologies that may improve client operations, efficiency, or employee experience. 

• Help clients understand their technology options and make informed decisions without unnecessary technical complexity. 

Required Qualifications 

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or equivalent professional experience. 

• 5+ years of experience in IT management, business technology, systems administration, application support, consulting, or a related role. 

• Demonstrated hands-on systems administration experience supporting business technology environments. 

• Working knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365 administration, Azure, endpoint management, networking, virtualization, backup, and cybersecurity fundamentals. 

• Ability to independently diagnose and resolve technical issues while recognizing when escalation or specialized engineering support is appropriate. 

• Ability and willingness to divide time between client leadership, project coordination, systems administration, and direct technical support. 

• Experience working directly with business leaders, department managers, employees, vendors, and technical teams. 

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Power Platform, SQL Server, and related Microsoft technologies. 

• Experience supporting or enhancing line-of-business applications. 

• Experience with application development and integration technologies such as C#, ASP.NET, .NET/.NET Core, Java, APIs, and SQL. 

• Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into technical solutions. 

• Experience coordinating technology vendors and external partners. 

• Strong troubleshooting, organization, and follow-through skills. 

• Strong written and verbal communication skills. 

• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences. 

• Ability to manage multiple initiatives, priorities, vendors, and stakeholders simultaneously. 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Previous experience as an Embedded IT Manager , Business Systems Manager, Technology Manager, or similar role. 

• Experience working within an MSP, consulting, or professional services environment. 

• Experience supporting organizations with multiple line-of-business applications and technology vendors. 

• Experience with business process analysis, workflow optimization, and automation. 

• Experience managing technology projects or coordinating cross-functional initiatives. 

• Project management experience or related certifications. 

• Microsoft, CompTIA, Cisco, or other relevant infrastructure and cloud certifications.
