Water Resources Engineer 4

Job Description Responsibilities include: Under light supervision, performs basic to high complexity calculations, modeling, data analysis, designs, on site evaluations and/or other similar evaluations for water resources projects (ex: climate change adaptation; coastal analysis and engineering; collection systems; CSOs; dams; drainage; economics and planning; ecosystem restoration; flood management; green infrastructure; groundwater; hydroelectric power; hydrology and hydraulics; integrated resource planning; irrigation; open channels; outfalls; planning; pressure conduits; probability and risk analysis; reservoirs; sedimentation; spillways, gates and outlet works; stream, rivers, wetlands; stormwater management; urban watersheds; water law and regulations; watershed management; water supply planning and systems; and water quality, etc.). Provides technical guidance and training to more junior staff. Reviews the work of more junior staff. Collaborates with sales staff to create proposals in response to current and potential client requests for proposal (RFPs). Reviews draft proposals for adherence to firm, industry, state, local and federal regulations and best practices. Meets with current and potential future clients to review their current and future design needs. Utilizes TKM systems and TKM material. May pose technical questions that support development of the TKM body of knowledge. May support TKM content development as directed. Performs other duties as required. May create or work with a team to create a poster or other presentation material for a conference. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Civil, Coastal or Chemical Engineering or related discipline. Certification as an Engineer in Training (EIT) or passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam in states where an EIT is not obtainable (within 18 months of hire or promotion or transfer). 5 years of related experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. Skills & Abilities Knowledge of GIS software and practices. Knowledge of computer assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software and practices. Knowledge of engineering principles of design. Intermediate knowledge of hydraulics as appropriate for technical work. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of Microsoft business software (Excel, Word, etc.). Solid knowledge of other support tools such as mathematical models, scripting languages, etc. Amount of Travel Required No travel is required.
